c. big necklaces

d. a cocaine addiction

If not, you were either too young, too old, or a social pariah. But please – don't let any of those things stop you from participating in today's discussion. Today's post requires audience participation. Without it, How to Smell a Whale's very first Themed Review Series will be a total failure and I will have to sell all of my shit and become a hobo.

What I need from you in order to not become a hobo is for you to tell me what perfume(s) defined the 80s for you. Post it in the comments section and based on your suggestions, Megan and I will compile a list of what you all consider the quintessential scents of the 80s and review them. There will probably also be some sort of 80s perfume giveaway involved, partially to bribe you to read this website, and partially because this exercise will require the purchase of at least 2 perfumes we will abhor and want to get rid of immediately.
